Dance

So, you think you can dance?  Saint Francis High School is pleased to announce the newest addition to our program of studies, our very own Dance Program.  The focus of this program is to provide all students, from the curious beginner to the experienced student, with the opportunity to dance.  Students enrolled in Dance will further their knowledge of various dance techniques and learn such dancing styles as hip hop, jazz and salsa, just to name a few.  So grab your dancing shoes, bring your best moves and sign up for our brand new dance program, it will be a toe-tapping good time.

Dance, dance, dance, from Hip-Hop to Jazz to Break Dancing, on January 14th, at 7 pm., our theatre will play host to an amazing dance show.  Our new dance program has been a great addition to Saint Francis and the students are thrilled to put on a show that will showcase the many styles of dance they have explored.   This show is certain to please all; tickets will be on sale at the door for $5.00 each.

 Drama

If you have an interest in acting, singing, dancing or the technical side of theatre, then the Drama is the place for you.

Drama Production

Come relive a classic time in history with the Saint Francis Drama Department’s production of Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey’s musical Grease.  The year is 1958; the place, Rydell High, where Danny Zuko and his loyal band of Greasers, and Sandy Dumbrowski and the Pink Ladies are the talk of the town, and yes, Grease is still the word.  You will have six opportunities to enjoy all the great dancing this musical has to offer, and sing along with all those classic songs like “Summer Nights” and “Greased Lightenin’ ”.  Tickets will go on sale in February and the show will run February 27 to the 29 and March 3 to the 5.  So come on out and enjoy yourselves as we take you back in time and remind you that “We go together, like a rama-lama-lama, ka-dinga da ding-dong; Remembered forever as, shoo-bop, sha, wadda, wadda, yippity, boom-de-boom…”

Advanced Acting

After many hours of brainstorming and deliberation, this year’s Advanced Acting students have decided on the theme of High School Television for this year’s Advanced Acting production.  Over the next couple of months the students in Advanced Acting 15, 25 and 35 will write, direct and create a montage of scenes based on some of your favourite television shows.  We hope that you will come out and see what our efforts have produced.  As usual, the show will tour various local junior high schools and we will run our show one night only on the Saint Francis High School Theatre stage on January 10 @ 7:00 PM.  Tickets will be on sale at the door for $5.00 each.   Don’t forget to mark this date on your calendars; we look forward to seeing you.

Musical Drama Production

Also, you must remember to mark your calendars to attend our main stage production of Grease.  Our director, Ms. Duma-Lorincz has her hands full with the Burger Palace Boys and the Pink Ladies in a show that will take you back to “Summer Lovin’” in the 1950’s.  The hard work of the cast and crew will be showcased from February 27th –29th and March 5th –7th.  Tickets will go on sale in February.
